At just 11 years old, Caleb Hunter from Wisconsin, USA, has astonished the world with his extraordinary hand-eye coordination. The young prodigy recently set a Guinness World Record by spinning a ball 51 times in just 30 seconds using a specialised juggling apparatus known as a pindalu. Guinness officials have already officially recognised Caleb’s achievement.

Juggling is a performance art that requires an individual to keep two or more objects, such as balls or oranges, in the air by repeatedly tossing and catching them. The key skill lies in ensuring that no object falls to the ground while maintaining a continuous, rhythmic cycle between the hands and the air.

The pindalu represents a modern evolution of juggling. Shaped like the letter “U”, it is a plastic tube through which the ball must pass. Unlike traditional juggling, where balls are caught directly by the hands, with the pindalu, the ball is inserted into one end of the tube, exits from the other, and is caught again. This demands lightning-fast reflexes and exceptional coordination, challenging both the eyes and the hands in a dynamic exercise of precision.

Caleb set this record in the under-16 category. In a recent interview with UPI, he admitted that achieving the record was far from easy. Hours of daily practice and repetition were essential to reach the required level of precision.

He reflected on the challenges he faced, saying,
"During practice, the ball would often drop before the 30 seconds were up. But when I finally set the record, the ball fell precisely as the 30-second mark ended. The timing was perfect."

Caleb attributes much of his success to his father, who is also a former Guinness World Record holder. Caleb’s father previously set a record by cycling across six US states in just 24 hours. Caleb explained,
"Even though someone later broke my father’s record, it has been my dream since childhood to achieve a world record like him."
