121st Prize Bond Draw to Be Held Today

As a secure means of savings, prize bonds have long been popular among the middle class and people of various professions. With just a Tk 100 investment, one can win up to Tk 600,000, making it an attractive savings option, especially for the middle class.

To encourage savings among all classes of people, the government introduced the “Bangladesh Prize Bond” in 1974.

Prize bonds can be bought and encashed at any time. The 121st draw will be held today, Sunday, at 11 a.m. at the office of the Divisional Commissioner, Dhaka.

According to a press release issued by the Internal Resources Division of the Ministry of Finance on Tuesday (October 28), the prize bond draw is conducted under the single common draw method. Each series of the prize bond includes 46 prizes per draw—one of Tk 600,000, one of Tk 325,000, two of Tk 100,000, two of Tk 50,000, and forty of Tk 10,000.

The results of the draw will be published in daily newspapers tomorrow, Monday (November 3).

It has been informed that prize bonds sold at least 60 days before the draw date (excluding the draw day itself) will be eligible for the corresponding draw. As per Section 118 of the Income Tax Act, 2023, a 20 percent tax will be deducted at source from the prize money.

Draws are scheduled annually on January 31, April 30, July 31, and October 31.

If any of these dates fall on a public holiday, the draw is held on the next working day. The previous (120th) draw of Tk 100 prize bonds was held on July 31.
