47th BCS Preliminary Examination on Friday, to be Held Simultaneously Across 256 Centres

The 47th Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) Preliminary Test (MCQ type) will be conducted on Friday, 19 September, from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon. The examination will be held simultaneously across 256 educational institutions in eight divisional cities: Dhaka, Rajshahi, Chattogram, Khulna, Barishal, Sylhet, Rangpur, and Mymensingh.

The Bangladesh Public Service Commission (BPSC) made this announcement in a notice issued on Monday, 16 September.

Entry and Attendance Regulations

  • Candidates must enter the examination hall by 9:30 am sharp.
  • After 9:30 am, all gates will be closed, and no late entry will be permitted.

Verification and Exam Format

Candidate details will be strictly verified:

  • Information and photo on the admit card must match the attendance sheet.
  • Any inconsistency may lead to cancellation of candidature and legal action.

The question and answer scripts will have four separate sets (1, 2, 3, 4). Candidates must answer from the corresponding set provided.

Strict Prohibitions in the Examination Hall

The notice emphasised strict restrictions. The following items are banned:

  • Books, papers, notes
  • Watches, calculators
  • Mobile phones
  • Bags, jewellery
  • Any type of electronic devices

Candidates will be searched using metal detectors before entry. If any banned item is found or if a candidate is caught cheating, their candidature will be cancelled immediately, and legal action will follow.

Facilities for Candidates with Disabilities

  • Visually impaired candidates: will be provided with scribes and will receive an additional 10 minutes per hour.
  • Other disabled candidates: will receive an additional 5 minutes per hour.
  • Admit card is mandatory for entry. In case of loss, a fresh copy can be downloaded from the official website.

English Version Candidates

Special arrangements have been made for candidates opting for the English version:

  • Separate seating and question papers have been prepared.
  • No version changes will be allowed on the day of the examination.
  • Candidates must sit for the exam at the designated centres.

Disciplinary Measures

The notification further warned that:

  • Any irregularities, misconduct, or malpractice detected will result in the cancellation of candidature.
  • Punitive measures will be taken under the Bangladesh Public Service Commission Act, 2023.
