5 Security Guards Dismissed Over Locked Gates at Dhaka University

Five security guards at Dhaka University have been temporarily dismissed after they were found responsible for locking the gates of five university buildings.

The university’s public relations office issued a notice on Thursday (November 13) confirming the action. According to the statement, the guards were dismissed due to negligence in their duties.

The dismissed guards are: Mohammad Shah Alam (IER), Mohammad Selim (IER), Mohammad Sangram Hossain (Faculty of Fine Arts Middle Gate), Mohammad Shafikul Islam (Department of Nutrition and Food Science), and Mohammad Ali Ahmed (Karjon Hall Rear Gate).

The guards were on duty from 10 PM on November 11 to 6 AM the following morning. During that time, the Proctorial Security Mobile Team conducted a surprise inspection of their posts and found them negligent in their duties, leading to their dismissal.
