Rezoul Karim, Amir of Islami Andolan Bangladesh, has strongly criticised certain political parties for allegedly exploiting the banner of Islam to mislead the public. Speaking at an election rally in Fatullapur, Hariharpara School Ground, Narayanganj, on Friday evening, he stated, “One party dreams of monopolising power. They have ruined the ripest of opportunities, like destroying paddy with a rake. They have no intention of running the country according to Sharia. They have deceived us under the guise of Islam.”
The rally was organised in support of Mufti Ismail Siraji, the candidate representing the “Hand Fan” symbol for Narayanganj-4 constituency. Rezoul Karim expressed deep concern over secret dealings between certain parties and neighbouring countries, which he said had violated the trust of the Bangladeshi people. “Those who betray their own brothers cannot implement the ideals of Islam,” he emphasised.
Rezoul Karim also urged citizens not to allow themselves to be used as a stepping stone for political gain. “At present, there is only one ballot box that truly represents Islamic values – the Hand Fan. I appeal to young voters to cast their first vote in favour of Islam. I also request mothers, sisters, and elders to give it a try once and vote for the Hand Fan,” he added.
The event featured speeches from multiple leaders, reinforcing the party’s electoral message and organisational structure. Participants included Narayanganj-4 candidate Mufti Ismail Siraji, Presidium Member Professor Mahbubur Rahman, Central Office Secretary Lokman Hossain Jafri, Dhaka Divisional Organisational Secretary Delwar Hossain Saki, Central Members Mufti Rezoul Karim Abrar, Mufti Habibur Rahman Misbah, and Mufti Shafiqul Islam, among others.
