A 14-year-old schoolboy, Mustakim Mia, was fatally shot during a violent clash between rival groups in Raypura Upazila of Narsingdi, police and local sources reported. The incident occurred early on Wednesday morning, 4 February, at around 6 a.m., in the Saydabad area of Srinagar Union.
Mustakim, a seventh-grade student, was the son of Masud Rana, a resident currently working in Saudi Arabia. According to witnesses, the boy was standing in his home courtyard when he was struck by gunfire, resulting in his immediate death. His grieving mother, Shahana Begum, said, “My son had stepped out of the house and was standing in the courtyard when suddenly shots rang out. We are not affiliated with any group, and I demand exemplary justice for those who have taken my child’s life.”

On Wednesday morning, followers of Ershad Mia reportedly attacked the homes of Hanif Master’s supporters armed with firearms and makeshift weapons. During the ensuing gunfight, Masum, also known as China, the nephew of former UP member Firoz Mia, allegedly fired shots that struck Mustakim in the courtyard.
