The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) is set to launch an operation to recover stolen stones in Bholaganj, Sylhet.
This was confirmed to the media on Wednesday, 13 August, by Tanzir Ahmed, Assistant Director (Public Relations) of the ACC.
Reason for the Operation
According to Tanzir Ahmed, the operation follows allegations of damage to state resources through illegal stone extraction in the Bholaganj Sadapathor area of Companiganj Upazila, Sylhet. Investigations revealed that local administration and unscrupulous political figures were allegedly involved in facilitating the unlawful removal of these stones.
