Ansar-VDP Launches Japanese Language Training Programme

In a significant stride towards diversifying international employment opportunities for its personnel, the Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defence Party (Ansar-VDP) has officially inaugurated a specialised Japanese language training programme. Launched under the ambitious “Sanjiban Project,” this initiative seeks to equip force members with the linguistic proficiency required to access the high-demand labour markets of Japan.

A Strategic Vision for Global Employment

The programme was formally opened on Thursday by the Director General of Ansar-VDP, Major General Abdul Motaleb Sazzad Mahmud, via an online ceremony conducted from the force’s headquarters. This initiative follows a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed on 15 January with Skill Up, a prominent skill development and consultancy firm specialising in global workforce alignment.

During his keynote address, Major General Mahmud emphasised that this curriculum represents a radical departure from traditional military or civil defence training. “This Japanese language programme is a hybrid and entirely unique educational framework,” he remarked. “It is designed as an intensive, residential, and practical immersion course, fundamentally different from our conventional training modules.”

Empowering the “Force of Millions”

The Director General highlighted the staggering scale of the force’s ambition. With 6 million active members, the Ansar-VDP network effectively encompasses approximately 30 million family members. A core strategic objective of the current leadership is to create sustainable employment pathways for this vast community.

To ensure that financial barriers do not hinder professional advancement, the Ansar-VDP Welfare Trust has pledged to play a pioneering role. Upon completion of the 90-day course, the Trust will bear the examination fees for participants seeking higher-level Japanese language certifications, such as the JLPT (Japanese Language Proficiency Test).

Institutional Infrastructure and Execution

The training is being delivered concurrently across five regional hubs to ensure broad geographic representation. Expert instructors from Skill Up are leading the sessions, focusing on both the technical aspects of the language and the cultural nuances essential for working in Japan. This residential model ensures that trainees can focus entirely on linguistic mastery, preparing them for roles in sectors such as nursing, construction, and information technology, which are currently facing labour shortages in Japan.

By fostering these international linkages, Ansar-VDP is evolving from a traditional security force into a potent engine for national economic development and human resource export.
