Brighton-based specialist insurer Ansvar Insurance has triumphantly concluded its ambitious ‘£25k in 25’ fundraising campaign, raising a total of £25,216 for sixteen national and local charities.
Launched in January 2025, the initiative aimed to generate £25,000 solely through employee-led fundraising activities. The campaign was the brainchild of Ansvar employee Shaun Utting and involved the entire workforce participating in a year-long series of physical, creative, and community-focused challenges.
Notable activities included sea swims, marathon runs, company-wide bake-offs, and knitting poppies for the Poppy Appeal. A highlight of the campaign was the charity football match held in May at Brighton & Hove Albion’s Amex Stadium, featuring Ansvar employees competing alongside broker partners. The match alone contributed £10,460 to Esteem, a local charity supporting young people to build self-esteem and foster stronger communities.
The campaign concluded in December with employees Fran Leadbetter and Julienne Jones taking part in the Big Sleep Out, spending a night sleeping rough in Brighton to raise both awareness and funds for homelessness support services.
Samantha Sanderson, Marketing Executive at Ansvar, reflected on the success:
“We are thrilled to have reached our target and are incredibly proud of the creativity and dedication shown by our team. From braving the freezing waters in February to organising our final Christmas quiz, our colleagues have gone above and beyond to support the sectors we serve daily.
Supporting sixteen charities has been deeply rewarding. Every pound raised will make a tangible difference, from local Sussex organisations to national causes. This campaign demonstrates the extraordinary impact people can achieve when united for a common purpose.”
The initiative underscores Ansvar’s commitment to giving back. As part of the Benefact Group, the insurer channels all available profits to good causes, reinforcing its dedication to supporting the charity and not-for-profit sectors beyond traditional insurance services.
