Areas where electricity supply will be suspended for 9 hours today

Due to urgent repair and maintenance work on the distribution line and transformer, as well as the trimming of trees, electricity supply will remain suspended for nine consecutive hours today (Monday) in several areas of Sylhet, according to the Power Development Board (PDB).

The information was announced in a notification signed by the Executive Engineer of the PDB Sales and Distribution Division-2, Sylhet, on Sunday (November 2).

According to the notice, power supply to the 11 kV feeder line will remain off from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. During this period, the 11 kV Shibganj feeder will remain completely shut down, resulting in power outages in Shibganj Bazar, Shibganj Point, Shibganj Sonarpara, Time Square, and surrounding areas.

According to the PDB, tree trimming, distribution line repair, and transformer maintenance work will be carried out under the development project.

For safety reasons, the authorities have advised treating the line as active during the scheduled maintenance period to avoid accidents. However, if the work is completed earlier than planned, electricity supply will be restored immediately, the notice stated.

The Executive Engineer of PDB Sales and Distribution Division-2 has apologized for the temporary inconvenience and sought the cooperation of all customers to ensure improved service.
