Arrest Warrants Issued Against Netanyahu and Israeli Officials

Turkey has issued arrest warrants against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and several senior officials of his government on charges of genocide and crimes against humanity, according to a report by the media outlet The Guardian.

A statement from the Istanbul Prosecutor’s Office said that a total of 37 suspected officials have been listed. Among them are Israel’s Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir, and Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Eyal Zamir. However, the full list has not been made public.

In the statement, Turkey accused Israel of carrying out a deliberate genocide in Gaza, describing it as a systematic crime.

The Prosecutor’s Office further noted that the Israeli airstrike in March on the “Turkish-Palestinian Friendship Hospital,” built by Turkey in Gaza, has also been included in the investigation. Israel, however, has strongly condemned the move.

It is worth noting that Turkey officially joined South Africa’s genocide case against Israel at the International Court of Justice (ICJ) last year.

Currently, a so-called ceasefire is in effect in the Gaza Strip since October 10, as part of a regional peace plan mediated by former U.S. President Donald Trump. Nevertheless, Israel continues to carry out attacks and killings under various pretexts even during the truce.
