Bakery Trader’s Dead Body Found in Paddy Field

Police have recovered the body of a businessman named Zahurul Islam from a rice field in Bogura. The body was found early Tuesday morning (November 4) in a field located in Talukdar Para of Hajradighi, Nunghola Union, Sadar Upazila.

The deceased, Zahurul Islam (45), lived with his in-laws in the area and was engaged in the bakery business. Additional Superintendent of Police of Bogura Sadar Circle, Mostafa Manjur, confirmed the matter to the media.

Locals said that on Monday around 11 pm, Zahurul left his home after receiving a phone call and did not return. Early Tuesday, locals spotted his body in the rice field and informed the police. Authorities recovered the body and took it to the police station before sending it to the morgue of Shahid Ziaur Rahman Medical College (SZMC) Hospital for autopsy.

Mostafa Manjur stated that it is a case of homicide. The body shows multiple injuries on the head. The motive behind the killing is still unknown. The incident is being investigated with high priority, and the perpetrators will be brought to justice promptly.
