A Bangladesh Air Force F-7 BGI training aircraft crashed into Milestone College’s Diabari campus in Uttara, Dhaka, this afternoon, sparking a major fire and injuring several students.
The crash occurred shortly after 1:06 PM (21 July), when the aircraft took off and lost control, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

Official Statements
Mohidul Islam, Deputy Commissioner of DMP’s Uttara Division, told The Business Standard:
“A fighter jet has crashed into a building of Milestone College at Diabari area.”
Tarikul Islam, Public Relations Officer of the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism, also confirmed the incident.
Rescue and Injuries
Firefighters responded promptly, arriving within 16 minutes of the crash. A rescue team member reported:
“At least 6–7 students have sustained burn injuries after the crash.”
It remains uncertain whether the pilot(s) ejected safely prior to the aircraft’s impact.
Eyewitness Accout
A college director, speaking on condition of anonymity, described the chaos:
“A plane all of a sudden crashed into some coconut trees and other greeneries in our Diabari campus. Fire engulfed the plane and students frantically rushed to the scene.”
