Bangladesh’s six prominent cricketers have secured spots in the upcoming Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2026, set to commence on 26 March. Ahead of the franchise tournament, there had been discussions over whether the players would receive No Objection Certificates (NOC) from the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), and if so, for how long. It has now been confirmed that five of the six players—excluding last-minute addition Tanzid Tamim—have been granted NOCs. These five cricketers are authorised to participate in the league until 12 April, after which they must return for domestic and international commitments.
The distribution of Bangladeshi players among PSL franchises is as follows:
| Player | Team | Acquisition | Role/Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Mustafizur Rahman | Lahore Qalandars | Direct Contract | Left-arm pacer, key strike bowler |
| Parvez Hossain Emon | Lahore Qalandars | Draft | Will play alongside Mustafizur |
| Rishad Hossain | Rawalpindi PindiZ | Draft | Scheduled to return before New Zealand series |
| Nahid Rana | Peshawar Zalmi | Draft | First-time PSL participant |
| Shoriful Islam | Team TBD | Draft | Making debut in a franchise league |
| Tanzid Tamim | — | — | Last-minute selection, no NOC granted |
Mustafizur Rahman was signed directly by Lahore Qalandars for his proven abilities as a left-arm pacer, while Parvez Emon joins him in the same squad. The PSL draft subsequently allocated Rishad Hossain, Nahid Rana, and Shoriful Islam to various franchises, with Shoriful making his inaugural appearance in a franchise league. If schedules remain unaffected, Nahid Rana will line up alongside Peshawar Zalmi, while Mustafizur and Parvez will spearhead Lahore’s pace attack. Rishad Hossain will don Rawalpindi PindiZ colours.
Following Bangladesh’s recent home series victory in Pakistan, the national team currently has no international engagements, allowing players to enjoy Eid holidays. However, by the second week of April, Bangladesh is set to host New Zealand for a three-match ODI and T20 series, necessitating the early return of Mustafizur, Rishad, and other players involved.
A reliable BCB source confirmed to the media that all five players had received official NOCs. The clearance, however, is time-limited, extending only until 12 April, due to the upcoming New Zealand series. This arrangement enables the players to gain valuable franchise experience while ensuring they are available for national duties.
This year’s PSL represents an important opportunity for Bangladesh’s emerging and established cricketers to gain exposure at a high level of competitive cricket, while further consolidating their skills ahead of a busy international season. The performance of seasoned bowlers like Mustafizur and Shoriful will be closely watched, as it could have a significant impact on both their franchise teams and national team preparations.
