A group of prominent Bangladeshi cricketers has departed for Pakistan to participate in the 11th edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), set to commence on 26 March 2026. The players left the country on Monday (23 March), signalling Bangladesh’s growing presence in one of the region’s most competitive T20 tournaments.
Among those who travelled on the same morning flight were Mustafizur Rahman, Shoriful Islam, Nahid Rana, and Parvez Hossain Emon. In addition, Rishad Hossain and Tanzid Hasan Tamim have also secured contracts in the tournament, bringing the total number of Bangladeshi participants to six.
The inclusion of multiple players across different franchises reflects both their individual form and the increasing demand for Bangladeshi talent in global T20 leagues.
According to team arrangements, several Bangladeshi players are expected to feature together in the same franchise setups. Nahid Rana is likely to join Peshawar Zalmi, where he may be accompanied by Shoriful Islam and Tanzid Hasan Tamim, forming a notable Bangladeshi trio within the squad.
Meanwhile, Mustafizur Rahman and Parvez Hossain Emon are set to represent Lahore-based franchises, while Rishad Hossain is expected to don the colours of a Rawalpindi franchise (Pindi). These placements provide valuable opportunities for players to adapt to different team environments and conditions, particularly in high-pressure T20 settings.
The Bangladesh Cricket Board has granted all six players a No Objection Certificate (NOC), allowing them to participate in the PSL until 12 April 2026. This limited window reflects the board’s effort to balance international commitments with franchise opportunities.
Following their PSL stint, the players are scheduled to return to Bangladesh ahead of the home series against New Zealand national cricket team. The visiting side is expected to tour Bangladesh in the second week of April, playing a full series comprising three One Day Internationals (ODIs) and three Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is).
