A fighting half-century from Captain Azizul Hakim Tamim could not prevent the Bangladesh Under-19 team from being bowled out for 175 in 44.5 overs in their third fixture of the tri-nation tournament against South Africa, held at Harare Sports Club, Zimbabwe, today.

Bangladesh U19 Innings Summary

Batter Runs Scored Balls Faced Fours Sixes
Azizul Hakim Tamim (c) 59 81 5 2
Kalam Siddiki (not out) 49
Rizan Hossain 17

Only three Bangladeshi batters managed to reach double figures, reflecting a brittle batting display after a promising start.

Fall of Wickets and Bowling Highlights

After electing to bat first, Bangladesh lost wickets at regular intervals. The innings began to unravel after the dismissal of skipper Hakim, with the middle and lower order offering little resistance.

South African bowlers took full advantage:

Bowler Wickets Taken
Ntando Soni 2
Bayanda Majole 2

Their disciplined and well-coordinated attack dismantled Bangladesh’s momentum, stalling what could have been a more competitive total.

Tournament

Bangladesh came into the match aiming for a third consecutive victory in the series, having already secured wins in their opening two fixtures. A win today would put them in a commanding position and take them a step closer to booking a place in the final.

Despite the modest total, the team will look to defend it with a spirited bowling performance, keeping alive their hopes of an unbeaten run in the group stage.
