Bangladesh’s film “Bari’r Naam Shahana” has been chosen to compete in the International Feature Film category at the 98th Academy Awards (Oscars). The film will represent Bangladesh on the global stage as a foreign-language submission.
The announcement was made on Saturday at a press conference held at the Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel in Dhaka. Zahirul Islam, President of the Oscar Bangladesh Committee, officially revealed the selection.
The committee reviewed and evaluated five films submitted from Bangladesh for consideration in the Best International Feature Film category. After careful assessment, “Bari’r Naam Shahana” was unanimously chosen to represent the country. The submission deadline was 16 September.
