Bayern Munich returned to winning ways in emphatic fashion on Sunday, defeating Hoffenheim 5-1 at the Allianz Arena, thanks to a sensational hat-trick by Luis Díaz. After a draw and a defeat in their previous two Bundesliga matches, Bayern faced one of the league’s top-three sides and delivered a commanding performance despite Hoffenheim being reduced to ten men early in the game.
Harry Kane opened the scoring with a brace, but it was Díaz who stole the show, scoring three goals to complete his first hat-trick for the German giants. Bayern left the pitch with a significant victory, regaining momentum in the league.
Bayern’s 21-match campaign now includes 17 wins and three draws, giving them 54 points at the top of the Bundesliga table. Borussia Dortmund follow in second place with 48 points, while Hoffenheim, suffering their fifth defeat of the season, remain third with 42 points.
Luis Díaz joined Bayern last summer from Liverpool and has quickly become a key figure for Julian Nagelsmann’s side. The Colombian star has scored 13 goals in 20 Bundesliga matches this season, and across all competitions, he has netted 18 times in 31 appearances, contributing 12 assists. Kane leads the Bundesliga scoring charts with 22 goals, followed closely by Díaz.

Osimhen Dembélé scored twice in the first half, and after an own goal by Facundo Medina, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Lee Kang-in added further goals in the second half.
