Bellingham and Foden Recalled as Tuchel Unveils England Squad

England manager Thomas Tuchel has recalled Jude Bellingham and Phil Foden to the national squad ahead of their upcoming World Cup qualifying matches against Serbia and Albania.

England, who have already secured their place at next year’s World Cup with two matches remaining, will conclude their Group K campaign with a home fixture against Serbia at Wembley next Thursday, followed by an away clash with Albania three days later.

Bellingham, the Real Madrid midfielder, returns to the squad after missing October’s fixtures as he was still recovering from shoulder surgery. The 22-year-old’s form in Spain has been exceptional, and his comeback is seen as a major boost for Tuchel’s side.

Phil Foden, the Manchester City forward, is also back in contention for the first time since Tuchel’s inaugural England camp in March. The 24-year-old has enjoyed a strong start to the Premier League season and is expected to play a key creative role.

Among the 25-man selection, Bournemouth’s Alex Scott stands out as the most notable new inclusion, earning his maiden senior call-up following a string of impressive performances in midfield. Youngsters Nico O’Reilly and Jarell Quansah also receive their first international call-ups.

There are further recalls for Adam Wharton and Nick Pope, while Morgan Gibbs-White, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Myles Lewis-Skelly, James Trafford, and Ollie Watkins have all been omitted from the current squad.

Tuchel has chosen not to recall Jack Grealish, currently on loan at Everton from Manchester City, and Trent Alexander-Arnold also misses out due to ongoing fitness concerns.

England secured qualification for the 2026 World Cup, which will be held in Canada, Mexico, and the United States, with a commanding 5–0 victory over Latvia in Riga last month.

Tuchel is expected to use these final qualifiers to fine-tune his tactical plans and assess fringe players before naming his preliminary tournament squad next year.
