A bilateral meeting took place between Professor Dr Muhammad Yunus, Chief Adviser of the Interim Government of Bangladesh, and Anwar Ibrahim, the Prime Minister of Malaysia.

The meeting was held on Tuesday, 12 August, in Putrajaya, Malaysia.

Prior to the meeting, Professor Dr Muhammad Yunus signed the visitor’s book in Putrajaya.

On the same day, before the bilateral talks, Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim welcomed Bangladesh’s Chief Adviser at his office in Putrajaya.

During the occasion, Anwar Ibrahim and Dr Yunus were introduced to visiting delegates, diplomats, and other guests. The Prime Minister and the Chief Adviser also held a private discussion shortly before the formal bilateral meeting commenced.

Professor Dr Muhammad Yunus was accorded a red carpet reception upon arrival. The honour guard was presented to him during the ceremony, symbolising the high esteem in which he is held.

It is noteworthy that in October of the previous year, at Professor Yunus’s invitation, Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim visited Bangladesh, marking a reciprocal gesture in the strengthening of bilateral relations between the two countries.

This meeting underscores ongoing diplomatic engagements and mutual respect between Bangladesh and Malaysia, highlighting the commitment of both nations to foster cooperative relations.
