Global pop icon Billie Eilish has once again leveraged her immense social media influence to condemn the actions of the United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). Her latest intervention follows the fatal shooting of 37-year-old Renee Nicole Good in Minneapolis earlier this week, an incident that has ignited a firestorm of national outrage and placed the Donald Trump administration under intense scrutiny.
On Friday, 9 January 2026, the nine-time Grammy winner shared a series of provocative posts on her Instagram Story. The first featured a graphic explicitly labelling ICE a “federally funded and supported terrorist group,” accusing the agency of “tearing apart families, terrorising citizens, and now murdering innocent people.”
Eilish’s activism extended beyond mere condemnation. A second post she reshared called for the total abolition of the agency, listing the names of 32 individuals who reportedly died in ICE custody over the previous year. A third encouraged her followers to lobby Congress to defund the organisation and demanded the immediate arrest and prosecution of the officer responsible for the Minneapolis shooting.
The backlash against the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has reached a fever pitch, largely due to conflicting accounts of the tragedy. While President Trump and Vice President JD Vance have maintained that the officer acted in self-defence after Good allegedly attempted to strike agents with her vehicle, leaked video footage appears to debunk this narrative. The footage, which has since gone viral, shows Good driving in the opposite direction of the agents at the time the fatal shots were fired.

As the Minneapolis incident evolves into a symbol of broader systemic issues, Eilish’s vocal stance ensures that the pressure on the White House remains relentless.
