Bloody Body of Indigenous Man Recovered from Hill in Sitakunda

The police recovered the bloodied body of Adoshe Mog (52), a member of a small indigenous community, from a remote hill in the Sonaichhari Union of Sitakunda Upazila. The discovery was made on Friday, 26 September, after police received information about the incident. The Sitakunda Model Police Station retrieved the body from the scene in the evening.

According to preliminary information, the deceased, Adoshe Mog, was the son of the late Kalamg of Manikchhari in Khagrachhari district. Police reports indicate that the body was found near the International Islamic University, deep in the hills. Various injuries were observed on his body, suggesting foul play.

Following the discovery, the victim’s brother, Achai Marma, filed a murder case at Sitakunda Police Station. The complaint noted that the deceased had cut marks on his face.

According to the FIR, five years ago, Adoshe Mog relocated from Khagrachhari to Sonaichhari Union, settling on a hill in Middle Ghoramara, Ward No. 3, Dighi Hill, where he built a small hut. He earned a living through agriculture and day labour in nearby fields. His wife, two sons, and a daughter currently reside in Khagrachhari.

On the day of the incident, a local man named Alauddin spotted the bloodied body of Adoshe Mog while working on the hill and informed the family.

Mohammad Alomgir, Inspector (Investigation) of Sitakunda Model Police Station, stated: “The body was found bloodied, with visible injuries on the face. Preliminary investigation suggests this was a murder. The body has been sent to Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH) morgue for post-mortem. Legal action is underway.”
