BNP Holds Special Prayers in Bogura for Khaleda Zia’s Recovery

A special prayer and supplication session was organised in Bogura on Friday (28 November) for the speedy recovery of former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia, who is currently receiving treatment for pneumonia and infections in her heart and lungs. The event, hosted by the district unit of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), took place after Friday prayers at the Baitur Rahman Central Mosque in the city.

The gathering was attended by prominent BNP leaders, including the party chairperson’s adviser and former Mayor of Bogura, Advocate AKM Mahbubur Rahman; former Member of Parliament Helaluzzaman Talukdar Lalu; district BNP President and former Mayor Rezaul Karim Badsha; VP Saiful Islam, member of BNP’s National Executive Committee; Ali Azgar Talukdar Hena; Zainal Abedin Chan; former district BNP convener Advocate Saiful Islam; district BNP Vice-President MR Islam Swadhin; Maftun Ahmed Khan Rubel; Organising Secretary Zahidul Islam Helal; and Kalam Azad, divisional coordinator of BNP Media Cell for Rajshahi-Rangpur.

Also present were district BNP Joint Secretary Touhidul Alam Mamun, Sheikh Tahauddin Nahin, former district Jubo Dal convener Khademul Islam Khadem, district Krishok Dal Secretary Enamul Haq Sumon, and other party leaders including Humayun Kabir Geda, Shamim Reza Shamim, Fazle Rabbi Toha, Mahmud Sharif Mithu, Abdul Gafur Dara, Ashrafuzzaman Probal, Swaeb Islam Abhi, district Chhatra Dal President Habibur Rashid Sandhan Sarkar, and General Secretary MR Hasan Palash.

The prayers were led by the Khatib of Baitur Rahman Central Mosque, Mufti Maulana Monwar Hossain, who invoked blessings for Khaleda Zia’s health, the country, and BNP leaders. The event served as a demonstration of solidarity, highlighting the concern of party members and the wider community for the well-being of the former Prime Minister. Khaleda Zia remains under close medical supervision at Air Care Hospital in Dhaka.
