BNP Leader Dies During Victory Procession in Kishoreganj’s Pakundia

A tragic incident unfolded in Pakundia Upazila of Kishoreganj, as a BNP leader passed away while participating in a celebratory procession commemorating the anniversary of the mass uprising.

The event was part of a joint initiative by Pakundia Upazila BNP, the municipal BNP, and affiliated organisations, marking the anniversary of the fall of a fascist regime and the day of its flight. A large procession was brought from Burudia Union to the BNP’s Upazila Office premises.

As the procession arrived at Matmohol, Al Amin suddenly fell ill. He was promptly rushed to Pakundia Upazila Health Complex, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.

Statements and Medical Opinion

Advocate Jalal Uddin, the convenor of Pakundia Upazila BNP, confirmed the incident and said:

“We organised this joyous procession to mark the fall and flight of the fascist regime. As the Burudia Union leaders reached the party office with the rally, our fellow leader Al Amin fell ill. He was immediately taken to the hospital, where the doctor declared him dead. We pray for the forgiveness of his soul.”

Dr Md Nur-e-Alam Khan, the Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer, stated:

“He was already deceased when brought to the hospital. Preliminary indications suggest that he may have suffered a stroke, likely triggered by the excessive heat.”

The untimely death has cast a pall over what was meant to be a day of celebration for the BNP in Pakundia. The local political community has expressed deep sorrow and condolences for the loss of one of their dedicated members.
