The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) is celebrating its 47th founding anniversary today, Monday (1 September). The party was established on this day in 1978 by the then President Ziaur Rahman.
To commemorate the occasion, the BNP has formed a 16-member National Celebration Committee.
The party has announced a six-day programme to mark the anniversary, beginning with a discussion session held on Sunday.
On Monday (1 September), the celebration commenced with the hoisting of national and party flags at the central office in Dhaka and at all district offices across the country. At 11 a.m., party leaders and activists paid tribute at the tomb of the party’s founder, Ziaur Rahman, in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar. In addition, rallies and discussion meetings are being organised in every metropolitan city and district headquarters.

Special Publications
To further highlight the significance of the founding anniversary, the BNP has issued a special commemorative supplement and released posters nationwide.
Through these activities, the party is observing its 47th founding anniversary with extensive participation across the country.
