The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) will participate in the forthcoming general election under the supervision of acting chairman Tarique Rahman, according to the party’s foreign affairs advisor, Humayun Kabir.
Returning to Bangladesh from a visit to the United States, Kabir spoke to journalists at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on Thursday (2 October), sharing key updates regarding the party and the upcoming election.
He affirmed that Tarique Rahman will return to Bangladesh very soon, stating: “There is no uncertainty regarding his return to the country.”
Kabir also emphasised the BNP’s commitment to the upcoming national election, noting: “The election will be held in February, and the party’s principal advisor is fully dedicated to the preparations.”
Addressing the recent attack on leaders of the National Citizens Party (NCP) in New York, Kabir said: “Through this attack, the Awami League has once again demonstrated that it is a terrorist organisation.”
