Body of Mentally Ill Person Recovered from Titas River

The half-decomposed body of Md. Touhid Khan (55), a mentally ill person, was recovered from the Titas River near Rupnagar in Akhaura, Brahmanbaria. The police recovered the body at around 11:30 am on Tuesday (18 November).

Touhid Khan was the son of Farid Khan from the eastern part of Devgram in Akhaura municipality.

His family members stated that Touhid Khan had been missing. Despite searching in various places, he could not be found. On Monday, a public announcement was made in the area regarding his disappearance. On Tuesday, local people noticed the body floating in the river and immediately informed the police.

Akhaura Police Station’s Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md. Chamiuddin stated that an investigation is underway to determine the cause of the person’s death. However, no formal complaint has been filed by the family at the police station.
