A tragic road accident in Bogura’s Nandigram Upazila claimed the life of a 13-year-old boy named Utsab on Sunday, 22 March. The incident occurred around midday on the Kadamkuri-Penghazki regional road near Dhundar Bazar in Burail Union.
Utsab, the son of Bikash Chandra from Maria village, was cycling to a religious ceremony in the neighbouring Bonkuri village when the accident took place. According to police and local sources, a speeding truck struck him from behind as he approached Dhundar Bazar. He was thrown from his bicycle and crushed under the rear wheels of the truck, dying instantly at the scene.
Police promptly arrived at the site and recovered his body, which was subsequently sent to the morgue of Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital in Bogura for post-mortem examination.
Nandigram Police Sub-Inspector Shams Mohammad confirmed the truck involved has been seized and the driver arrested. “Legal proceedings are underway in connection with the incident,” he added.
