BPL 2025: Who Has Been Signed Before the Players’ Auction

The Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) 2025 players’ auction is set for 21 November, but several franchises have already moved early to secure key players before the big day. According to tournament regulations, each team can sign up to two local players (from categories A and B) and one or two foreign players directly before the auction.

The auction will be conducted in two stages — the first for local players and the second for overseas signings. Every franchise must select at least 13 local players from the auction and can sign no more than two players directly outside the auction. Each team will be allowed a maximum of 16 registered local players.

So far, five participating franchises have finalised 10 Bangladeshi cricketers through direct contracts. However, big names such as Liton Das, Mushfiqur Rahim, Shoriful Islam, Towhid Hridoy, Soumya Sarkar, Zaker Ali, Tanzim Hasan Sakib, and Nahid Rana remain without a team and will await their fate in the 21 November auction.

Team Players Signed Directly
Rangpur Riders Nurul Hasan Sohan, Mustafizur Rahman
Sylhet Titans Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Nasum Ahmed
Dhaka Capitals Taskin Ahmed, Saif Hasan
Rajshahi Warriors Tanzid Hasan Tamim, Najmul Hossain Shanto
Chattogram Royals Sheikh Mahedi, Tanvir Islam

Franchise insiders reveal that teams are in talks with several international T20 specialists from Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, South Africa, and England for the overseas segment of the auction. The participation of top global stars, however, depends on their international commitments during the same window.

Cricket fans were surprised not to see senior players like Liton and Mushfiqur in the pre-signed list, but team officials hint that they could become hot picks during the main auction, possibly commanding high bids.

With the auction date approaching, excitement is rising among supporters and franchises alike. The spotlight will soon turn to who lands the biggest names — and which franchise builds the strongest squad — when the gavel falls on 21 November.
