Brazil’s Fixtures for Next Two Friendlies Confirmed Ahead of 2026 World Cup

As December begins, the schedule for the 2026 FIFA World Cup has been finalised, and football fans now know precisely when the five-time world champions, Brazil, will take to the field. Ahead of the tournament, the Seleção are set to play high-profile friendly matches against formidable opponents France and Croatia during next year’s March international window, as part of their preparations to sharpen their form. While the opponents had already been confirmed, the dates and venues of these encounters had remained uncertain—until now.

The Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) has officially announced that Brazil will face France on 26 March in Boston, United States, before taking on Croatia five days later, on 31 March, in Orlando, Florida. These friendlies are designed to provide the team with rigorous competition ahead of the World Cup, allowing the squad to test tactical setups and build cohesion against world-class opposition.

CBF President Samir Daoud commented on the upcoming fixtures, saying, “Our opponents for the forthcoming friendlies are now confirmed—France and Croatia. These matches are crucial in ensuring Brazil approaches the World Cup in peak condition.”

Historically, Brazil’s encounters with both teams have been a mix of triumphs and setbacks. The Seleção last faced France in 2015, registering impressive victories on both occasions by scoring three goals in each match. However, Brazil’s memories of France at the World Cup stage are bittersweet, having been eliminated by Les Bleus in the quarter-finals of the 2006 tournament.

Matches against Croatia also carry recent poignant memories. The two sides met in the quarter-finals of the 2022 Qatar World Cup, where a tense encounter ended 1-1 in regulation time, only for Brazil to suffer heartbreak in the penalty shootout. Such historical context adds an extra edge to the forthcoming friendlies, promising exciting and emotionally charged contests for fans worldwide.

The upcoming matches are not just opportunities to fine-tune the squad; they are also a chance for Brazil to reaffirm their status as one of football’s elite nations, testing themselves against teams with proven pedigree on the global stage.
