Businessman’s Body Found Buried, Partner Arrested

After being missing for 21 days, the body of a businessman was recovered buried in a graveyard in Khagail, Gopalganj Sadar. The deceased has been identified as Mizanur Rahman Molla (48), a mobile phone businessman from Ghosherchar area and son of Harez Molla.

Police have arrested a business associate, Zahid Molla, in connection with the incident. According to the police, on the night of 8 November, Zahid Molla called Mizanur on the phone, promising to repay some dues. Mizanur was then lured and subsequently went missing.

With the help of technology, police recovered Mizanur’s decomposed body from the graveyard yesterday evening. After identification by family members, the body was sent to Gopalganj 250-bed General Hospital morgue for autopsy.

OC Shah Alam confirmed that other suspects involved in the crime would be arrested soon. Mizanur’s wife, Jamila Islam, said, “On 8 November at 9 PM, Zahid Molla called Mizanur, promising to settle dues. Since then, he has been missing, and all his phone numbers have been inactive.”
