Carpenter’s body found inside locked warehouse, two assistants missing

Police have recovered the body of a carpenter named Biplob Hossain (52) from a locked warehouse in Paschim Malsah village under Gangni upazila of Meherpur district.

On Thursday night (October 30), police arrived at the scene after receiving information and recovered the body. The deceased, Biplob, was the son of the late Anisur Rahman from Bogura Sadar upazila.

According to local sources, Biplob and two of his assistants had been working in the warehouse for the past three months, making furniture. In recent days, when Biplob’s mobile phone remained switched off, his family members informed Gangni police. Later, police went to the site and recovered the body from inside the locked warehouse.

Locals said that furniture work had been ongoing there for quite some time, but over the past few days, no activity or sound had been noticed. Meanwhile, the two assistants who worked with Biplob are still missing, and no information about their whereabouts has been found so far.

Gangni Police Station Officer-in-Charge (Investigation) Al Mamun said that police recovered the body from the locked warehouse upon receiving the report. Several police teams are working to determine the cause of death, and further details will be known after the autopsy report.
