In preparation for the 13th National Parliamentary Election, authorities in Kendua, Netrokona, have installed CCTV cameras at 96 polling centres to ensure a free, fair, and peaceful voting process. Among these, 50 centres have been identified as high-risk, prompting additional security measures and heightened monitoring.
Five executive magistrates will be on continuous duty to oversee operations and maintain order during polling. The information was confirmed by Md. Rifatul Islam, the Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) of Kendua and Assistant Returning Officer for the constituency.
According to official data, Kendua Upazila—including one municipality and 13 unions—hosts a total of 285,916 registered voters. Of these, 146,500 are male, 139,410 female, and six voters identify as hijra. All preparations for conducting the 13th National Parliamentary Election and the 2026 referendum in the Netrokona-3 constituency (Kendua–Atpara) have been completed.
Election materials, including ballot papers and transparent ballot boxes, have already been delivered to the polling centres. Authorities, along with law enforcement, are fully prepared to ensure that the election is conducted in a transparent and peaceful manner.
High-risk polling centres will see the deployment of additional personnel from the police, Ansar, Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), and supplementary army units. Authorities have emphasised that no circumstances will be allowed to compromise the integrity of the election.
A control room has been established to allow instant reporting of irregularities, complaints, or urgent issues. Coordinated monitoring through this system will facilitate immediate response and intervention where necessary.
Md. Rifatul Islam appealed to citizens and journalists to cooperate fully to maintain a calm and orderly election environment. He stressed that the combined efforts of the administration, security forces, and local communities are essential for ensuring a smooth electoral process.
The key data for Kendua’s polling centres and voter distribution is summarised below:
