In a shocking incident in Fatulla, Narayanganj Sadar Upazila, 45-year-old chef Raihan Molla was fatally attacked with a sharp weapon on Monday evening. The assault occurred around 8:00 pm on the road of Esdair New Connection area.
According to Raihan’s eldest son, Sabbir Molla, tensions had been brewing for over a month. He explained that his father had previously been involved in an altercation with a local drug dealer named Razzak, during which Razzak stabbed Raihan in the foot. “After that incident, I had strictly warned my father not to go near Razzak’s area,” Sabbir said. Despite this, Raihan reportedly ventured into the area on Monday evening, where assailants attacked him with knives and fled the scene. Sabbir suspects that Razzak may have been involved in orchestrating the attack.
The 300-bed Narayanganj Hospital’s emergency department doctor, Md. Shahadat Hossain, confirmed that the deceased had multiple sharp force injuries to the head and body. “The victim succumbed to excessive blood loss,” he stated.
Meanwhile, Sub-Inspector Abu Raihan of Fatulla Model Police Station said that Raihan’s body has been recovered and sent to the morgue of Narayanganj General Hospital for post-mortem examination. He confirmed that Raihan was employed as a chef, and that his three sons work in a local garage.
