The Bangladesh Nationalist Chhatra Dal has pledged a nine-point commitment to meet the expectations of the student-public who participated in the historic people’s uprising of 2024.
This nine-point pledge was announced on Sunday (3 August) at a rally held in Shahbagh, Dhaka, commemorating the anniversary of the July people’s uprising.
The Nine-Point Commitment of Chhatra Dal

| 1 | Eradicate abusive practices such as guest room torture, forced political participation, and oppression due to political differences in educational institutions. Take active roles to prevent all forms of terrorism and criminal activities. |
| 2 | Ensure safe accommodation, nutritious food, livable rooms, and a conducive environment for study in campuses and dormitories by taking necessary administrative measures. |
| 3 | Dedicate every member to build an egalitarian, humane, socially just, tolerant, liberal, and democratic state based on equality regardless of religion, caste, ethnicity, or gender. Promote equal participation of women in education and governance, ensuring safe environments in educational and workplace settings. |
| 4 | Take proper steps for the development of a Bangladesh-centric, universal education policy and curriculum that embed communal harmony, anti-domination, and anti-fascist thoughts to protect independence, sovereignty, national interests, and unity. |
| 5 | Lead strong initiatives to introduce employment-oriented and technology-based education to eradicate unemployment. Prevent question paper leaks and corruption in academic and job examinations to ensure equal opportunities for all students. |
| 6 | Play a pioneering role in creating drug-free campuses and a drug-free society. |
| 7 | Foster social and cultural movements consistent with the historical significance of anti-British movements, the Language Movement, the Great Liberation War, the 1969 and 1975 uprisings, 7 November 1975, 1990, and the 2024 people’s uprising, strengthening the cultural ethos of Bangladeshi nationalism. |
| 8 | Ensure regular student council elections in all colleges and universities to establish student rights in educational institutions. |
| 9 | Remain vigilant to prevent fascism or dictatorship from hindering democratic progress. Work continuously with the broader student-public to ensure freedom of expression, human rights, voting rights, and the independence and autonomy of all democratic institutions in building a truly democratic Bangladesh. |
