Chief Prosecutor Assures Conflicts Won’t Affect Trials

Dhaka, 26 February 2026 — Chief Prosecutor Aminul Islam has assured that internal disputes among prosecutors will have no impact on the administration of justice. Speaking at a press briefing at his office on Thursday, he responded to questions regarding recent allegations and tensions within the prosecution team.

“The internal differences among prosecutors, however frequent or serious, will not influence judicial proceedings,” said Aminul Islam. “The prosecution team functions like a family, and naturally, families experience disagreements. Yet, these do not compromise our commitment to justice.”

He further emphasised that complaints emerging from either side of the internal divide would never affect the outcomes of trials under his supervision. “As long as I hold this office, the integrity of the judiciary remains paramount. I have never negotiated justice for the sake of convenience,” he asserted.

Aminul Islam issued a clear warning to wrongdoers and reassurance to the public: “No innocent person will be harassed under my watch, and no offender should expect to evade justice. Let there be no doubt—this is an unequivocal message.”

Analysts note that the prosecutor’s statement comes amid reports of rising tension within the prosecutorial ranks, with allegations ranging from administrative disagreements to accusations of bias. Despite these claims, the Chief Prosecutor’s firm stance seeks to reinforce confidence in the judicial system and assure citizens that internal discord will not hinder the fair delivery of justice.

Summary of Chief Prosecutor’s Statement:

Point Details
Impact of internal disputes Will not affect trials or judicial decisions
Nature of prosecution team Described as a “family” with natural disagreements
Commitment to justice No compromise; innocent individuals protected
Warning to offenders No criminal will escape prosecution
Duration of assurance Applies for the entire tenure of Aminul Islam

Observers say that by publicly addressing these concerns, the Chief Prosecutor aims to preserve both public trust and institutional integrity. Legal experts agree that such a statement is significant in a climate where allegations against prosecutorial staff could otherwise undermine confidence in the judicial process.
