Citizens Bank Expands Network With New Bogura Branch

Citizens Bank PLC, one of the burgeoning players in the Bangladeshi private banking sector, achieved a significant milestone in its territorial expansion by inaugurating its latest branch in Bogura. The opening ceremony, held on 24 December 2025, took place in the Borogola area, a vital commercial hub within the northern district. This move is part of the bank’s broader strategic initiative to provide modern, technology-driven financial services to the bustling trade centres outside the capital city.

The branch was formally inaugurated by Alamgir Hossain, the Managing Director and CEO of Citizens Bank. During the ribbon-cutting ceremony, he was accompanied by a senior executive delegation, including Deputy Managing Directors Md Mostafizur Rahman and Md Abdul Latif. The presence of the bank’s top brass underscored the strategic importance of Bogura—often referred to as the gateway to North Bengal—as a focal point for the bank’s retail and SME (Small and Medium Enterprise) growth.
