The civilian death toll in Iran has surged past the 1,000 mark amid a recent wave of violent incidents, according to reports from the United States-based human rights monitoring group, Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA). Since last Saturday, at least 1,097 civilians have reportedly lost their lives, highlighting the severe impact of ongoing violence on non-combatants.

Among the deceased are 181 children under the age of ten, underscoring the indiscriminate nature of the attacks. In addition, 5,402 civilians have sustained injuries, including 100 children. These figures reflect both the scale and intensity of the violence affecting ordinary citizens.

HRANA’s latest report indicates that within the past 24 hours alone, at least 104 separate attacks were recorded. These assaults have primarily targeted military installations, medical facilities, and residential areas. The agency further cautioned that hundreds more casualties and injuries remain unverified, suggesting that the actual numbers could be considerably higher.

A summary of recent civilian casualties is presented below:

CategoryNumberDescription
Total civilian deaths1,097Including 181 children under 10
Total injured5,402Including 100 children
Attacks in past 24 hours104Targeting military, medical, and residential areas
Child fatalities181Children under 10

HRANA emphasised that the ongoing attacks have severely disrupted healthcare services, limiting access to urgent medical treatment. Many families have lost their homes, contributing to a deepening humanitarian crisis within affected communities.

The report also notes that a significant number of casualties occurred in remote regions, where weak infrastructure has delayed rescue and medical response efforts. Children are particularly vulnerable, with both physical and psychological consequences likely to persist long term.

The human rights organisation urged the international community to urgently monitor the situation and intervene. They stressed the necessity of ensuring civilian protection and holding perpetrators accountable for their actions.

The escalating violence has profoundly affected Iran’s social and humanitarian landscape. Ensuring the safety of citizens has become a matter of immediate concern, and international observers are maintaining close scrutiny of the evolving crisis. Overall, the situation underscores a severe human rights emergency, with the outlook remaining deeply concerning.
