Classes and Examinations Suspended Today at Jahangirnagar University

Jahangirnagar University authorities have announced that all academic and administrative activities will remain suspended today, Sunday, due to the ongoing process of the Jahangirnagar University Central Students’ Union (JUCSU) and hall union elections.

The decision was conveyed through an official notice signed by Registrar ABM Azizur Rahman on Saturday, 13 September.

According to the announcement, the JUCSU and hall union elections of 2025 involved extensive preparations, voting, and result counting between 10 and 13 September. During this period, teachers, students, and administrative staff actively engaged in the election process, often working tirelessly through sleepless nights.

This exhaustive schedule left many physically fatigued and mentally drained. Considering the wellbeing of all stakeholders, the university has suspended classes, examinations, and office activities for the day.

The university authorities confirmed that:

  • From Monday, all classes and administrative activities will resume as usual.
  • Previously scheduled final examinations will remain postponed until further notice.

This temporary suspension, the authorities emphasised, is aimed at allowing both students and staff a much-needed period of rest following the intense election schedule.
