Cocktail Explosion in Karwan Bazar

A cocktail explosion occurred near the Circus Fountain in Karwan Bazar, Dhaka, on Wednesday evening (12 November) shortly after 10:00 PM. It is not yet known if anyone was injured in the incident.

Eyewitnesses reported that around 10:15 PM, two cocktails were thrown from a motorcycle travelling from Karwan Bazar towards Shahbagh, targeting the area near the Circus Fountain.

Confirming the incident, Tejgaon police’s Officer-in-Charge, Mohammad Mobarak Hossain, said: “We received reports of a cocktail explosion shortly after 10:00 PM. However, the location falls under the jurisdiction of Kalabagan Police Station, and they will provide more details.”

Meanwhile, Kalabagan Police Officer-in-Charge, Monirul Islam, clarified: “This does not fall within our station’s area. The Circus Fountain is under Tejgaon Police Station. Both our team and the Tejgaon police are present at the scene. We are making every effort to ensure public safety and to bring the perpetrators to justice.”
