In Raipur, Lakshmipur, the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB-11) has apprehended three suspects in connection with the brutal killing of college student Ashraful Islam, who was attacked by local drug users and members of a teenage gang.
The arrests were confirmed on Saturday afternoon by RAB-11 Noakhali Camp Company Commander Md. Muhit Kabir Seraniabat in an official press release. The suspects were apprehended late Friday night from the Bhulta Gausia area under Rupganj police jurisdiction in Narayanganj.
The detained individuals are:

The victim, Ashraful Islam, was the son of Azizul Haque of Charbanshi Village, Ward No. 3, Uttar Charbanshi Union, Raipur. He was in the final year of his degree at Rustam Ali College, Raipur.
According to RAB, on the night of 14 January, Ashraful was attacked by local drug users and gang members led by Nahid Bepari and Shahin Bepari. Believing him to be dead, the assailants fled the scene. Local residents rescued him and first admitted him to Raipur Upazila Health Complex, before transferring him to the district hospital. As his condition worsened, he was later moved to a hospital in Dhaka, where he succumbed to his injuries on Tuesday evening.
Following the incident, Ashraful’s father, Azizul Haque, filed a murder case at Raipur Police Station on 16 January. The complaint named 11 individuals and included 16 others as unidentified suspects.
Investigations revealed that Shahin Bepari and two accomplices had previously been arrested by detective police for possession of narcotics. Shahin allegedly suspected that Ashraful had informed the authorities, prompting the violent attack on 14 January after Shahin was released on bail.
RAB officials confirmed that the three suspects are now in custody and have been handed over to Raipur Police Station. The operation to apprehend other perpetrators remains ongoing as part of the continued investigation.
