Daylight Murder in Jhenaidah: Armed Group Slaughters Businessman Over Family Dispute

A brutal killing shook Jhenaidah on Saturday afternoon when businessman Murad Hossain was hacked to death in a pre-planned attack at Pabahati City Mor. The murder took place around 2 p.m. in front of stunned bystanders.

According to local accounts, tension had been building ever since disagreements arose regarding the funeral ceremony of Murad’s father. On Friday evening, Murad and his cousin Alam Mondol engaged in a heated fight. The following day, that dispute exploded into deadly violence.

Eyewitnesses said Alam’s son Sourav returned with a group of armed accomplices on three motorcycles. Without warning, they surrounded Murad and began striking him with sharp weapons. The assault was so violent that locals were unable to intervene. Murad collapsed on the spot, covered in blood.

He was rushed to Jhenaidah Sadar Hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead. Officer-in-Charge Abdullah Al Mamun confirmed that police were immediately sent to the location and that a special operation is underway to arrest those involved.
