Delhi Police Detain Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi During Protest March

Delhi police have detained several opposition leaders, including Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of the Opposition in India’s Lok Sabha, and Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi.

They were marching from the Parliament towards the office of the Election Commission.

Earlier, police stopped them near the Transport Bhavan by erecting barricades, prompting all the MPs to sit down there and start chanting slogans.

Following the arrest, Rahul Gandhi said, “The truth is, we are not allowed to speak. This struggle is not political; it is a fight to save the Constitution. It is a fight for one person, one vote. That’s why we demand a clean voter list.”

Among those who took part in the protest march were opposition MPs Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi, Dimple Yadav, Mahua Moitra, Sanjay Raut, Randeep Surjewala, and KC Venugopal.
