Dev Faces Backlash After Posting Movie Picture

This year, the Bengali actor Dev is set to star in the upcoming film ‘Raghu Dakat’, which will hit theatres across the box office. The film had been announced around two years ago, and its first look was also publicly revealed. However, work on the project suddenly halted shortly afterwards.

According to Indian media reports, the ‘Bengal’s Biggest Carnival’ has recently begun. During the carnival, Dev and his entire team are travelling across various regions in the country to promote the film.

Amidst the promotions, Dev faced criticism from netizens after posting a photo related to the film. The image, shared on social media on Tuesday, showed him standing in the middle of a waterlogged area with his eyes closed and hands raised, dressed in the iconic ‘Raghu Dakat’ look.

The post coincided with heavy rains the previous night, which caused severe flooding in Kolkata and surrounding areas, leaving public life disrupted. The timing and context of the photograph prompted widespread criticism online.
