Dhaka came alive on Saturday as the city marked Eid al-Fitr with a spectacular and colourful parade, blending cultural heritage with modern festive cheer. Organised by the Eid Utsav Committee, the event aimed to revive the capital’s traditional civic celebrations while spreading joy among residents and visitors alike.

The festivities commenced with the Mehdi Utsav, a cultural programme showcasing music, dance, and performances reflecting Bangladesh’s rich artistic traditions. Following this, participants took to the streets in a vibrant procession, creating a lively atmosphere that resonated across the city.
