In anticipation of potential anti-government sabotage, Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has launched a month-long sweeping operation across the capital city for August. The DMP cited national security concerns and political volatility as the basis for this proactive measure.

At a press conference held at the DMP Media Centre on Saturday (2 August), Deputy Commissioner of Ramna Division, Md Masud Alam, confirmed the development.

“There are numerous concerns centred around the month of August. Indications have also appeared in newspapers. Considering all these factors, the police are on full alert. Every police station, unit, and team is actively working,” — Md Masud Alam, Deputy Commissioner, Ramna Division
