The Appellate Division of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh has confirmed that there is no legal bar to holding the Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (DUCSU) election on 9 September.
On Wednesday, 3 September, the Appellate Division issued its order following a hearing regarding the election.
This order, passed by a seven-member bench headed by Chief Justice Syed Refaat Ahmed, clears the way for the DUCSU election to be held on schedule.
During the hearing, the following lawyers represented the different parties involved:
