Dominant Victory Propels Real Madrid to the Top of the Table

After a heavy defeat to Atlético Madrid in their previous La Liga match, where Real Madrid conceded five goals, the team bounced back in style in their next fixture, defeating Villarreal 3–1. This victory has propelled Los Blancos back to the top of the league table.

On Saturday, 4 October, at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, Vinícius Júnior scored twice, while Kylian Mbappé added another goal. Real Madrid dominated the match throughout, maintaining 70% possession and taking 26 shots, with 7 on target. Despite their dominance, the first half ended goalless.

The 5–2 defeat to Atlético had interrupted Real’s previously unbeaten run, but they had quickly recovered by thrashing Kairat Almaty 5–0 in the Champions League. Continuing that momentum, they comfortably overcame Villarreal.

In the 81st minute, Kylian Mbappé scored Real’s third goal from a Brahim Díaz pass. This marked Mbappé’s ninth goal in the league, though he was forced to leave the pitch due to injury shortly afterward.

Ultimately, Real Madrid secured a 3–1 victory, moving to the top of the La Liga table with 21 points from 8 matches. Barcelona sit second with 19 points from 7 matches. The Catalan club will aim to reclaim the top spot when they play their next match tonight.
