Drama Turns Real: Heavy Prop Injures Actress Tiyasa During Shoot

Popular Bengali television actress Tiyasa Lepcha has suffered a serious on-set accident while filming an important sequence for her much-loved series Anurager Chhoa. The incident occurred during a routine shoot that unexpectedly turned hazardous. According to production sources, the actress is now resting at home with a painful knee injury following urgent medical attention.

Tiyasa stars opposite actor Rahul Majumdar in this hit Star Jalsha drama, which has consistently dominated the ratings. Recently, the storyline has involved several emotionally intense and physically demanding scenes, requiring actors to work with heavy props and quick movements. It was during one such sequence that the unfortunate mishap occurred.

As reported by Indian media, the script required Tiyasa to pick up and throw a heavy flower vase. However, while lifting it, the vase slipped from her grip and dropped directly onto her knee. The sharp edge caused a deep cut, leading to immediate and profuse bleeding. Crew members rushed to assist her, and an on-site medical team was contacted at once.

Doctors later administered an injection to manage the pain and prevent further complications. They have advised the actress to take complete rest for several days. Medical professionals also mentioned that the injury could have been far worse — a slight shift in angle could have fractured the bone.

News of Tiyasa’s injury spread rapidly across social media, prompting an outpouring of concern from fans and fellow actors. Many questioned whether adequate safety precautions were in place on the set, especially when actors are required to handle heavy or potentially dangerous objects.

Adding to the public interest is the ongoing speculation about Tiyasa’s relationship with actor Sohel Dutta, with rumours of a possible wedding circulating widely. The accident occurring amid such discussions has only intensified attention on the actress.

Producers have announced that filming schedules will be adjusted until Tiyasa recovers. If necessary, a body double may be used for physically demanding sequences. Nonetheless, the entire cast and crew eagerly await her safe return to the set.
