DSHE Directs Educational Institutions to Screen Anti-Drug Documentary and Theme Song

The Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education (DSHE) has issued a directive instructing all secondary and higher education institutions across Bangladesh to screen an anti-drug documentary and theme song as part of a nationwide awareness campaign against drug abuse.

This initiative follows the seventh meeting of the Advisory Committee on Law and Order, convened under the Ministry of Education. The campaign is spearheaded by the Department of Narcotics Control, aiming to raise awareness and build stronger social resistance against the growing threat of drug misuse among the youth.

A letter confirming the directive was signed by Kazi M Abu Quaiyum, Director of the Monitoring and Evaluation Wing at DSHE. The communication emphasised the urgent and mandatory nature of the campaign.

Instructions to Institutions

  • Educational institutions at both district and upazila levels are required to screen the materials.
  • Heads of institutions must submit a confirmation report along with necessary details via the Google Form provided.
  • Regional directors have been asked to disseminate the directive to all principals and heads of schools and colleges within their jurisdiction.

This awareness campaign is part of a broader national strategy to combat drug abuse and create a more informed and resilient student community.
